Aaron Chavez is a credit union executive, leadership coach, trainer, and community advocate with more than 19 years of experience at Southwest 66 Credit Union. Currently serving as Vice President of Business Development, Aaron has dedicated his career to developing people, strengthening relationships, and creating opportunities for individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout the Permian Basin.

His extensive career at Southwest 66 has provided him with experience across nearly every area of the credit union. Through those experiences, Aaron has developed a strong background in leadership, operations, member experience, lending, business development, training, and employee development. He has a particular passion for training and coaching others, helping employees strengthen their leadership, communication, customer service, and professional skills.

In his current role, Aaron focuses on building strategic community and business relationships, expanding financial education and outreach, and connecting local businesses and their employees with resources that can help them succeed.

Aaron is a John Maxwell Certified Coach, Trainer, and Speaker and a founding member of the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team. He is also a graduate of Southwest CUNA Management School, a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor, and a Certified Credit Union Facilitator.

Beyond his professional career, Aaron is deeply committed to community involvement. He has participated in Leadership Odessa, serves as an OdessaChamber Ambassador, and is Vice President of Engagement for the Permian Basin Chapter of Credit Unions. His community involvement has allowed him to advocate for local businesses, develop meaningful partnerships, and support initiatives that contribute to the continued growth of Odessa and the Permian Basin.

Aaron believes leadership is about adding value to people. Whether through coaching an employee, developing a leader, connecting a business with resources, or serving the community, his goal is to help others grow and succeed.
